During the Transitions Life Center ribbon cutting, the organization marked a significant milestone with the celebration of a campus expansion designed to better serve adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Founded in 2012, Transitions Life Center began as a small summer camp created to support adults aging out of the school system. Over time, it has grown into a vibrant, inclusive community focused on skill-building, independence and meaningful social connection.
The expansion allows Transitions Life Center to serve twice as many Members while increasing opportunities and experiences for adults of all abilities. New functional spaces include a sensory room and a specialized unit designed to support individuals with higher support needs, ensuring access to engaging, person-centered programming for every Member.

Spaces such as Instructional Studio 5, dedicated by the DeLuca Family Foundation, were thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity, foster connection and support meaningful growth.

“Every detail of this studio was designed with our Members in mind. The support that made this room possible is already transforming daily experiences—turning simple activities into moments of connection, growth and joy,” said Sabrina Hughes, executive director of Transitions Life Center. “We are deeply grateful to the DeLucas for helping make this possible.”

The Jan 16th, 2026 ribbon cutting marked the beginning of the organization’s next chapter, reinforcing its mission to provide adults with disabilities opportunities to continue learning, building skills and forming meaningful connections beyond graduation.

Life after graduation, the organization emphasizes, is not the end of the story but the beginning of a future filled with opportunity.
