The spirit of Thanksgiving was alive and well on Thursday, November 27th, as the 30th annual Frank DeLuca YMCA Turkey Trot brought over 2,000 runners, walkers, families, and community supporters together for one of Ocala’s most beloved holiday traditions. With both 5K and 10K options, participants of all ages filled the crisp morning air with energy, gratitude, and a bit of friendly competition.

A Milestone Moment
To commemorate three decades of fitness, fellowship, and community impact, Mayor Ben Marcio signed a special proclamation honoring the Turkey Trot’s legacy. This proclamation was formally presented during the opening ceremony by City of Ocala Councilman Ire Bethea, Sr., marking a meaningful moment in the event’s history.

The DeLuca Family Foundation: Proud Presenting Sponsor
As the presenting sponsor, the DeLuca Family Foundation was honored to support this milestone year. For decades, the Turkey Trot has helped fund essential YMCA scholarships, ensuring that children and families in Marion County have access to life-changing opportunities at the Frank DeLuca YMCA, regardless of financial barriers. Continuing that mission, this year’s event showcased the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the Ocala community.

A Tradition That Keeps Growing
Whether participants aimed for a personal record or simply joined in for fun, the energy and camaraderie could be felt from the starting line to the finish arch.
As we celebrate 30 years of memories and milestones, we look forward to many more miles, smiles, and Thanksgiving mornings spent together.
